Welcome to the Milwaukee PHP Users Group: MKEPUG.

Our Mission
Our mission is to bring together the Milwaukee area's best people and encourage best practices. In our group we have members with a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as people just learning. Regardless of the PHP background, however, these Best People can all benefit from the sharing and the developing of Best Practices. That's our group:

Our Meetups
First off, all of our meetings are FREE. We will accept corporate sponsorships, however. Or you can bring cookies / beer.

Our meetups are pretty laid back. While there is a schedule that we aim to stick to, we do have a great level of flexibility and leeway. You'll find welcoming regulars as well as eager new faces. To top it off, you're welcome to stay for one or many parts of the meetup. The meetup usually has a few parts:

First part: is a simple welcome, a set of announcements, and member introductions. We love to hear who you are, what you do and why you're here.

First segment:: The first part usually is a presentation focused on Business topics or Introduction to PHP. Even if you're not a master programmer, you will find some value here.

Quick break

Second segment: The second part usually tries to focus on a more tips/tricks in PHP or an advanced programming section. Hardcore people, this is your time! However, everyone is more than welcome to stick around and learn.

After party: More often than not, you'll find at least a few of the members heading out to a local pub to talk about the meetup or just socialize. You should come too!

Ways to get Involved
The Milwaukee PHP Users Group is a free volunteer ran group. Check out the Leadership team link to find out who heads up the group. This means we need your help. We are always looking for:

• Members to present to the group
  
• Members to recruit for the group and spread the word
  
• Sponsor businesses to help offset the costs of the meetups and bring food/drinks for some meetings
